THE SHORT ANSWER

What happened?
Chevlume is making four predictions. Target date for all four: 1 January 2030.
- Prediction: your first AI coworker will have a name and a login.
- Prediction: humanoids win warehouses before homes.
- Prediction: power deals become bigger news than model launches.
- Prediction: your phone runs a capable model offline.
Why does it matter?
These are our calls, not facts. We date them so we can be held to them, and on 1 January 2030 we will mark each one as right, wrong or partly right, in public.
Two facts behind our thinking:
- Fact: Tesla started production of its Optimus humanoid at its Fremont factory in October 2026. Elon Musk said the robot still needs “quite a lot of work” to be useful for open-ended tasks.
- Fact: on 6 October 2026, Google signed a 20-year deal for 890 MW of new nuclear capacity from Constellation, with the first megawatts expected by 2028.
What should you watch next?
→ Where humanoid robots are deployed first.
→ How much attention power deals get compared with model launches.
Quote this with your own predictions.
